Your adventure begins off Skyline Drive , mile marker (mm) 94 at the Turk Gap parking. The trailhead is found across Skyline Drive at the Appalachian trail (white marker) south post. Take a walk on the Appalachian trail for 0.4 miles until the intersection with the start of the Turk mountain trail (blue Marker) .  Make a right and continue your hike on the Turk mountain trail for 2 miles. The trail is a continuous ascent upon a single-track of compacted dirt, roots and stones for 690 ft. . The summit is found amongst a car wreck of small boulders and does sport a perch view.  However, a better view is found by continuing just passed the summit post on those same boulders to a larger outcrop of boulders with a high five view. this area is called a scree, it is where boulders and rocks have formed a large field along the mountainside. Pick a rock and spot to lunch, photograph and enjoy your reward. once rested, ready and your selfies look good… proceed to your car by retracing your steps via the Turk mountain trail and the Appalachian trail to the Turk gap parking lot.
