The Intro: Oh heaven on this great earth , this is Sky Meadows. This state park boasts rambling mountain views, sun soaked fields and dense forest canopy along an ala carte trail system.

Why this Hike:
from starry nights, to camp sites to perch views this state park has it all. the trail system is well managed ,well marked and crafted with love. The AT rides here, as does over 24 miles of trails to embrace. Trail Rating: Difficult

get ready for a unique adventure (and dont forget the headlamps!) this one is just a few miles long, but underground. Go deep on this former railroad and take in the sights and sounds of the cavernous world of the blue ridge tunnel. |
Why This Hike:
Grab the flashlight or headlamp because you are headed underground, 700 ft under the earth ! this trail is more about wide eyed child like exploration. TRAIL RATING: moderate

a beer with a view! on a good air quality day you can see reston, virginia some 30 miles away! its a great way to sit out and drink up the view. Why love them: get your fix on the straw golden ale or go for a heifer or maybe just a tart beer.. see also diversity.

The Intro: see also popular, this day hike is just over 5 miles of fun. This rambler rides the Appalachian trail and offers a few bouts of elevation gain but in general will make you earn your beer.

Ride this rambler along the Virginia and West Virginia and be ready for creek crossings, switchbacks and an open face view of the countryside. |
FRONT ROYAL, VIRGINIA

Why love them: Yum, great food with great beer! give the wings a nibble or sink into their burger and regain those calories lost on the trail.

dense forest, easy to ramble trail with a fun rock outcrop summit with plenty of perch seats for a gaze. Good for familes and kids (ages 7+) along with your furry friends. |
FREDERICK, MARYLAND

historic frederick maryland residing along the "riverwalk" sits attaboy beer in a refubished production plant. the facilities have outsiding seating , food trucks and an inside casual space. the entire joint is quite airy. Why love them: rumors are that no mermaids were hurt in their mermaid blood beer (what a great name) high fives also go to lunch break and their New England ipa called surefire.

The Intro: just over yonder in Myersville md sits this well known dandy 5 miler. best suited for a fall foliage hike or a weekend camp trip, the trail is suited for families with kids 7+ and your furry children too.
Why this hike:
in the comfort of a dense forest canopy your trail adventure will be light on the technical and more about steady pace. this trail has two points of interest ; Annapolis rock and Black rock. The first is a rock jetty facing farm land and greenbrier lake, the second is a smaller rock outcrop (less human pop) with views of the interstate and skree.. |
