A guide to amazing hikes and local food stops
 The Intro
So there you are on the way back home. You are a dusty, dirty,  sore, and yet grateful for the glorious adventure & ready to post to your Instagram until (mood killer alert)..... grumble grumble! Your hunger kicks in. (and your h-anger). Your post adventure drive back hits a snag.  But wait ! You begin to recite what you packed for the adventure : trail bars, shoes, jacket, backpack, weather check, gas and directions to your remote destinations but ...... not  information on any local food stops!  It sure is super easy to slide right on over to fast food but is that way to curtain close a day or weekend of big summit views? Lets get you the inside knowledge to some great local eats alongside some incredible trails and finish your adventure off right!
              All recommendations have been personally experienced and happily enjoyed by Into the Yonder.

OLD DOMINION DOGGERY & BURGER SHOPPE

WHY STOP HERE: Strasburg sits on the corner of two major interstates (66 and 81) makingb it accesible to many excursions and adventures. The Doggery is authentic, its small and cozy perfect for families and growling bellies. 

LETS TALK MENU: Think of anything and now add it to a hot dog !  aside from allowing your imagination to run wild, the Doggery offers their own hot dog recipes to choose from.  How about this fun one? FRITO BANDITO consisting of Chili, Nacho Cheese, Jalapenos & Fritos . The must have side item to their meals is their boardwalk French fries. The fries are large cut, skin on potato fries, yet the secret comes in how they prepare the fries!  The Doggery also offers burgers and salads as well. Now that you are salivating... finish the meal off with something from their homemade baked goods....

Best summary: guaranteed to make you a kid again with a delicious hot dog and fries.

WHY STOP HERE:  Mclean is a bustling little burbia town outside of Washington D.C that is also home to the C.I.A and sits shoulder to shoulder with Great Falls National Park. 

LETS TALK MENU: Rocco's is a family institution in Mclean, with amazing bites and best for last, their pizza. The menu also includes wings, gluten free items and more!

THE BEST SUMMARY:  Is there a better way to share stories of the days adventure then over a large pizza? If you love mom and pop cooking and a place that treats you like family, then be sure to mark Rocco's as a destination for your belly.

WHY STOP HERE:  New Market, Virginia along Interstate 81 is the answer to many of your adventure stomach grumbles. Perfectly positioned to support your hikes in the George Washington National Forest, this little nook of a town deliver mountain views while you eat.

Lets talk menu: A perfect joint to fill your fancy on tacos, and authentic Mexican cuisine.
