The Experience

This short and sweet hike sites right off the Blue Ridge parkway (across the road from the Dripping Rock trailhead). Your trail experience coasts along the famous Appalachian trail with lush forest, dense tree canopy for those hot summer days and a quick payoff to a rock outcrop. The trails are easy to navigate as you will encounter dirt, roots and small rocks over a mild ascent to the summit. Your summit is a quiet outcrop of rocks perfect for laying out amongst the bountiful views of nearby farms, rolling valleys and nearby mountains. This trail is great for when your family needs a fresh air break and doesn't want to deal with the crowds at humpback.  To return to your car, retrace your steps.
